Platinum-haired firecracker-human Guy Fieri has announced he will open an eponymous smokehouse in Louisville, Ky., this September, WDRB News reports. The barbecue joint will join the likes of Hard Rock Cafe and T.G.I. Friday's in Fourth Street Live, an entertainment and retail complex in downtown Louisville. "I'm going to bring you a real, eclectic, genuine, scratch-made restaurant," Fieri says. Brace.
The Barbecue National Hall of Famer's announcement comes shortly after Fieri sold all of his stock in Johnny Garlic's, his very first restaurant venture. In doing so, Fieri left a longtime partnership with Steve Gruber who continues to run the business today.
But the past is the past, and Fieri still has a crop of restaurants across the country and even overseas — including the relatively young El Burro Borracho in Las Vegas, Guy's Burger Joint aboard several Carnival cruise ships, and Guy's American Kitchen and Bar, the subject of New York Times critic Pete Wells' epic, scorching review.
