Watch Jon Favreau Explain How to Win Bill Murray Over With Brisket

Stars: They're just like us

Jon Favreau is directing the reboot of Disney's iconic tale The Jungle Book (which premieres next Friday), and this film is on the completely opposite end of the spectrum from his well-received 2014 movie Chef. Nonetheless, Favreau put some of the culinary skills he honed while training with chef Roy Choi to work for him in the process of making The Jungle Book, as the Swingers writer told Jimmy Fallon last night.

Convincing silver screen legend and occasional cell phone thrower Bill Murray to be in a movie apparently isn't easy, but Favreau knows the way to the legendary actor's heart is through his stomach; as part of the preparation process in getting Bill Murray to voice the part of CGI bear Baloo, Favreau smoked him a brisket — which he learned to make on the set of Chef, natch — and flew it "like an organ transplant in a cooler" to Murray's home in Martha's Vineyard.
