World-traveling gastronome Anthony Bourdain returns to the small screen this weekend when Season 7 of Parts Unknown premieres. The show will air Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on CNN, and this clip offers a sneak peek at what to expect. Bourdain is heading to the Philippines to kick off the season.
In the preview, the chef-turned-TV host host hangs out with Manila-based rock band Keystone, and the dudes converse over a lunch of adobo. Bourdain inquires about what goes into the popular Filipino dish.
"Everyone would stake claim to having the best adobo," says one of the bandmates. "But the basic ingredients, I think, will remain the same." The rocker/cook displays his skills by combining garlic, pork, chicken, vinegar, peppercorns, bay leaves, and soy sauce to make the delicacy. Bourdain is impressed with the results: "This adobo is amazing. I mean, it's really, really good."
In addition to the above clip showing off some home cooking, the following video shows off some of Manila's finest street cuisine, something Bourdain calls "spicy, chewy, fatty goodness."
