Last night at SXSW saw the premiere for the trailer of Sausage Party, the R-rated CG film the world never knew it needed. Brought to you by Hollywood stoner bros Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, Superbad, Pineapple Express, et al), it's basically Toy Story for adults, if Toy Story was about food and Woody and Buzz Lightyear said "fuck" a lot. Apparently eight years in the making, the movie "is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store."
The film will include the voices of basically all the people you'd expect to see in a Seth Rogen film — Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, and Paul Rudd — plus several other notable Hollywood names such as Edward Norton, Salma Hayek, and Kristen Wiig. It's slated to hit theaters August 12.
