The holidays are a time for treats like roasted goose, candy canes, and... anchovy eggnog? New York City-based Eleven Madison Park/Nomad chef Daniel Humm dropped by The Tonight Show last night for a game he calls Food Fake-Out. Host Jimmy Fallon and sidekick bandleader/artist Questlove play guinea pigs to Humm’s twisted recipes. The chef lets the men choose between either a delicious dish, say a chicken stuffed with truffles, or a gross-out dish, like a bird full of hot dogs, pickles, and fermented shrimp paste. Both plates look identical, so it’s a surprise for everyone. Humm is positively giddy as Fallon and Questlove bite into the creations. “Go for it. Pick one up,” he urges Fallon to pick between an apple-cranberry pie or an innards pie with livers, kidneys, and lamb hearts.
Watch below for the video — one lucky Tonight Show employee gets to gulp that special anchovy eggnog.
