Now Hiring: Full-Time Copy Editor and Fact Checker

Eater and our sister brands Curbed and Racked are hiring a full-time copy editor and fact checker to work across our sites. This hire, based in our New York office, will contribute to our growing network and join a creative, hard-working team of editors, writers, and producers.

The copy editor will be responsible for maintaining style guides; ensuring the quality, consistency, and clarity of the writing that appears on our sites; and copy editing and fact checking stories ranging from short news posts to in-depth features and reports.

Our sites are fast-paced and broad in scope, so agility and the ability to work under a tight deadline are key. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and thorough, as well as attuned to modern and colloquial language — and will have a deep and abiding love (or at least tolerance) for Oxford commas.
