Internships
Across the board, we’re looking for smart, engaged interns who understand our publication and our audience and want to learn more about working across platforms.
Internships run for 12-15 hours a week, and paid and college positions are available. Take a look at the offerings below, and email jobs [at] eater.com (you must specify the internship you're applying for in the subject line). Include a few paragraphs about yourself, your interests, and why you want the gig, as well as a resume and relevant clips and social media profiles.
Reports internship
The reports intern will research, fact check, lay out, and write stories for the site, conduct photo research, and support special projects. Applicants should have strong writing skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for food and restaurants. This role is based in Eater's San Francisco office.
Video internship
This internship is for senior level students looking to beef up their professional reels. Video interns must be proficient in Adobe Suite — specifically Premiere, while AfterEffects is a plus — and capable of shooting with Canon 5DMK111 and Canon C100/300.
Eater’s video/media interns will assist the Eater Video team on field shoots, learn more about camera operation, and help film social assets/photos; assist on content edits and graphics — such as trailers, small segments, social video edits and assets, etc; and assist producers with releases, coordinating, and bookings for shoots. This role is based in Eater's New York office.
Eater news internship
News interns will work with our eater.com news team to research, report on, and write blog posts; research topics related to longer lead coverage; create images and conduct photo research; compile special projects, ranging from potential video scripts to data visualizations. In addition to news posts, the intern will come away with fully reported clips to add to their portfolio. This role can be remote or based in Eater's New York office.
Editorial operations internship
Editorial operations interns will work across editorial teams (news to features to city sites) and have their hands in social strategy, data collection and analysis, special projects and packages, marketing and communications, partnerships, and development. This internship is ideal for people who want to see how all parts of a media company operate. This role is based in Eater's New York office.
