There’s a lot to love about Thanksgiving — uncomfortable political debates with relatives aside — but if we’re being honest some dishes at the annual meal are superior to others. The quality of the sides definitely varies based on the cook and the recipe. Dinner rolls can be a throwaway or the first thing to disappear from the table. Dressing can be mushy or crisp. The turkey could be dry and bland, or moist with well-seasoned, crispy skin (that’s the best part after all). Dishes like mashed potatoes and pie are harder to ruin, though in the right hands it can be done.
