Michael Solomonov, the James Beard Award-winning chef of Zahav and Federal Donuts fame, recently brought two of his Philadelphia restaurants together to create one incredible sandwich. Last month's "When Abe Met Diz" pop-up event in Philly combined the forces of Dizengoff — a hummus restaurant that recently expanded to New York City— and Abe Fisher to craft a seriously loaded, limited-edition pita sandwich.
The "When Abe Met Diz" collaboration dish features Montreal-style smoked short rib in a caraway rye pita, topped with dill tehina, beet-pickled turnips, sumac mustard slaw, and fried onions. Watch the video above to see how the dish comes together.
