Lady Gaga, the pop superstar who made meat-based clothing fashionable, is already locked in to perform at halftime of Super Bowl 51 in February. Now, she’s planning a few tour dates that hit the opposite end of the entertainment spectrum. Gaga is partnering with Bud Light to take over dive bars for three upcoming tour dates.
An announcement posted on Bud Light’s Instagram account reveals the singer will debut a new song called "Million Reasons" during her mini-tour. Specific locations for the dates have not been announced, but the first show, scheduled for this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, will air live on Bud Light’s Facebook page.
Normally booked for dates at massive arenas, Mother Monster says these low-key dive bar dates will allow her to get in touch with the "raw Americana" feel of her new album Joanne. "Which is why I love this dive bar tour so much, because I get to go perform these songs and really look my fans in the eyes when I'm singing to them and really try to have a more natural human experience," she said in a statement provided to the Associated Press. "So Joanne is like, you know, Lady Gaga if you erase all the fame."
How does one get a ticket to such an intimate performance from such a mega-celebrity? Each show’s audience "will be made up of contest winners," according to the AP.
Following Wednesday’s show, Gaga will perform at two more as-of-yet-unnamed dive bars on Thursday, October 20 and Thursday, October 27. Joanne will be released on Friday, October 21.
