A South Korean inventor has created a cure for all those nights spent drinking alone. No, it's not some sort of 12-step program: It's a little robot that will throw back shots with you. This video shows off Robot Drinky, the alcohol-drinking robot.
Before it pounds the shot, the robot offers to clink glasses with its drinking companion. And after, its cute little cheeks get rosy, just like a human's would after some excessive alcohol consumption. The best part: the booze drains into a glass jar, so once your robot pal is passed out, you can enjoy its beverage of choice all over again.
Details on whether or not the robot will be marketed to the public aren't currently available, but in the video's description, inventor Eunchan Park shares his fairly sad inspiration:
On Christmas in 2012, I drank Soju(Korean alcohol) alone because I had no girl friend at that time. Drinking alone was definitely terrible!! so I couldn't drink anymore.
Lastly, I put an extra glass in front of me and poured Soju into it. And then, I cheered by myself with the glass of Soju, as though there was someone in front of me.Surprisingly, after that, the taste became totally to be changed!!!!!! WOW!!!
So, I could finally find the secret of taste of alcohol totally depends on existence of partner.
This is why I made this robot.
