Shots have officially been fired in the battle for the value meal crown. The fight came to a head last week with Wendy's and Burger King taking aim at one another's food and promotions on Twitter, The Daily Dot points out. The day began with Wendy's tweeting its ongoing four-items-for-$4 campaign.

Later that afternoon, Burger King took aim at its fellow burger slinger with a prickly post implying its five items for $4 deal was better than Wendy's four for $4 meal. (Simple arithmetic proves BK's allegation is true.)

While Whataburger may have won the Drake/Meek Mill feud, Wendy's will likely be crowned queen of this burger beef after doling out one final jibe.
Sick burn. Wendy's has since felt a pang of remorse and removed the tweet, and it appears Burger King is standing down for now. After all, it could take a few days to recover from such a stunning retort.
