Can’t Make it to Taipei? Get Popcorn Chicken at LA’s Kembo

This small but fierce operation serves incredibly authentic Taiwanese grub.

In this week's episode of Dining on a Dime, cheap eats expert Lucas Peterson travels to Monterey Park, a predominantly Asian neighborhood east of downtown Los Angeles, to try traditional Taiwanese street fare at the Kembo Foods trailer on Atlantic Ave. Run by chef Ed Hsu, Kembo offers customers a chance to try foods usually found at night markets in Taiwan: turnip cakes, Taiwanese sausage, and amazing popcorn chicken.
