Mountain Dew Is Trying Very Hard to be High End With New 'Black Label' Soda

Mountain Dew, the maker of the bright green highly caffeinated swill preferred by teenage skateboarders, is looking to class things up a bit. The company appears to have realized that infusing the soda with Doritos isn't exactly the most elegant of moves.

So now, the soda brand is launching Mtn Dew Black Label — didn't you know removing vowels makes things fancy? — which is made with real sugar, "dark berry flavor," and herbal bitters. And because the soda is "designed for those special times when Dew Nation wants to unwind — but with a touch of class," it comes in a matte black can. Mtn Dew Black Label will be available on a number of college campuses this fall and nationwide in 2016.
