People really need to quit with the explicit, racist receipts. According to NBC, the most recent drama took place at Danny's Pizza Pizzazz in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Customer Loretta Smith Layne says she was there for an order of wings "fried hard." However, when she received her takeout bag she was shocked to find that the accompanying receipt included "special instructions" that the wings be "fried hard like a black d—."
Layne says she "was very offended and upset and disrespected to get those words on a receipt." When a CBS news reporter confronted the Danny's Pizza manager who took Layne's order, he denied writing the explicit message. Owner Danny Sommeling also stated that he was unsure if the receipt came from his restaurant. However, Layne later received text messages from Sommeling apologizing for his son's actions, which he said were "definitely not professional." Layne says she doesn't think the son is taking responsibility. "It's not acceptable. Not to me. And I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I went through."
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time a receipt has turned up with offensive language. In 2014, a Virginia restaurant employee was fired for printing "MAKE FOR BLACK PERSON" on a chicken wing order. Then in December, a Pennsylvania man was stunned to find the N-word scrawled beside his name on a receipt. Watch the local news story below:
