Can't decide where to drink tonight? There's now an app for that — plus it provides transportation too. According to the Next Web, Bar Roulette — using Yelp and Uber APIs — randomly selects a bar on Yelp and then sends an Uber to pick users up. The catch is that users do not know what bar they are heading to until they arrive at the destination.
Business Insider notes users can pick a range of how far they are willing to go; the promises that the bars selected are all "highly rated" on Yelp. Most impressively, the app checks if the bar is open before sending a user there. Currently the app is only available on the web, but the team behind the app say they are working on an iPhone version.
While people are inventing apps to use Uber to bring customers to food and drinks, Uber is working on bringing food and drinks to customers. The company recently expanded its food delivery service UberEats and the program is now available in Barcelona, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. The service offers a handful of "curated" options from local restaurants each day. Users select the dish they want and an Uber car picks it up and drops it off curbside.
