Subway Guy Jared Fogle Named a Suspect in FBI's Child Porn Investigation

Fans are upset with Subway for cutting ties with Fogle.

Though details are scarce, authorities have confirmed that longtime Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle is a suspect in a lengthy child pornography investigation. The case is related to his former business partner, Russell Taylor, who remains jailed on eight counts of creation and possession of child porn.

Yesterday morning, Fogle's home was raided by the FBI, and after 11 hours of searching, electronic equipment was removed and taken to a forensics lab. Fogle has not been arrested, but he has been questionedA spokesperson told CBS News that he "has been cooperating, and continues to cooperate, with law enforcement in their investigation..."

Late yesterday, Subway and Fogle suspended their working relationship. The sandwich chain was polite, but stern, "Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take."

Meanwhile, fans of Fogle's have taken to social media to defend him and shame Subway for distancing itself from him. Business Insider reports that fans are expressing their disdain on Facebook and Twitter. On Subway's Facebook page one user wrote: "Hasn't Subway ever heard of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY! Shame on the company." Another spoke for her whole family: "If you end your relationship with Jared I'll end my family relationship with Subway."

Meanwhile, trolls are already attacking Fogle on Twitter, as they're wont to do.
