Brace, Modern Family fans, a cookbook based off of the show is just around the corner. According to a press release, Time Inc. Books will publish The Modern Family Cookbook September 22, just in time of the premiere of the new season. The cookbook will feature "100 easy-to-make recipes that center around the show's eccentric and hilarious characters." There will also be recipes from "key moments" in the show like "Dunphy's Failsafe Roast Chicken" and "Manny's Spectacular Tiramisu." Interspersed among the recipes will be stills from the show, character bios, and even side bars like "Phil's Guide to Fantastic Napkin Origami."
Indie food mag Lucky Peach has a second cookbook in the works. Its first cookbook, Lucky Peach 101 Easy Asian Recipes is written by the magazine's editor Peter Meehan and will hit shelves in October. The Wurst of Lucky Peach: A Treasury of Encased Meat will be written by the magazine's editor-in-chief Chris Ying. Details are scarce, other than the book will be 240 pages and published by Clarkson Potter on April 5, 2016. And, it will most likely cover tube sausages.
Dennis Prescott, the photographer behind the popular Instagram account Dennis the Prescott, has landed a book deal, according to Publishers Marketplace. Called Eat Delicious, the book will feature 100 original recipes "for classic comfort foods inspired by international influences." The photos will be based on his Instagram account. William Morrow will publish the cookbook, and no release date has been given.
Top Chef: Boston contestant Katsuji Tanabe is working on a cookbook with Skyhorse publishing. Titled Mexikosher: 100 Mexican Recipes That Are Kosher, it will include recipes from his Los Angeles restaurant of the same name. The book is slated to hit shelves in fall 2016, notes Publishers Marketplace.
New York City restaurateur Alexander Smalls (The Cecil) is publishing a book with Flatiron Books. Publishers Marketplace writes that it will be titled Alexander Smalls African American Cooking. No further details have been revealed.
