Ladies and gentlemen, Eater readers of all ages, please inch a little closer to your computer screen for a special announcement. Starting right now and ending, oh, around 5 p.m. local time Friday, Eater will be your headquarters for all cheap eats. That's right, Eater's first-ever Cheap Eats Week starts right this second. All week long we'll be celebrating the stands, stalls, diners, delis, and holes-in-the-wall that make dining in this country diverse, fun, delicious, and cheap. We'll focus on independent outlets, smaller chains, and iconic cheap eats. Find some examples of what's to come below. And keep your eye on this space, because here we go.

  • How Bosco sticks conquered the Midwest
  • A Roman street food guide
  • The history of the pizza bagel
  • Fried chicken goes fast-casual
  • A brief history of Mister Softee
