Dining in space isn't just a steady diet of cardboard-like freeze-dried dinners. In a cool YouTube video posted by the European Space Agency, Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoretti demonstrates to earthlings how she puts together a pretty stellar looking meal on the International Space Station.
Astronauts are given "bonus food" choices that "remind them of their home cooking tastes," and for Cristoretti it's a tortilla filled with quinoa salad, mackerel, dried tomatoes, and leek cream. To make the dish, Cristoretti must scoop each ingredient from individual silver packets while the tortilla keeps floating away. Now the only thing left to find is out is how well does it pair with the Space Station's zero-gravity espresso machine.
