UK-based conveyor belt sushi chain YO! Sushi is cementing their leap across the Atlantic and expanding their empire to include several U.S. locations. The chain — which has 74 outlets in the UK — already has two American locations: One in Sarasota, Fla. and another in Paramus, N.J. According to a press release, YO! Sushi plans to open two more locations in the next few months.
While some internationally-known restaurants are reluctant to open a location stateside, YO! Sushi is certainly not alone in making the leap. Globally-popular chain Nando's Peri-Peri first opened in the DC area, as well as in Baltimore, before expanding to Chicago last month with two locations.
Many American restaurants have also made the jump to London. Steakhouse chain Smith and Wollensky recently opened their first London location, as well as Brooklyn-based chocolatier Mast Brothers. Before that, burger haven Shake Shack first expanded to England in 2013 and opened their second UK outpost last month.
Update: The original version of this story noted a DC location, but that location is now closed.
