The sole purpose of state fairs may be to prove that it is possible to deep-fry anything. The Bacon A-Fair booth at the San Diego Fair is currently serving deep-fried Starbucks coffee. (The booth will be at other fairs this summer, too.) The fritters — which are made from coffee grounds folded into batter — are served on a stick that is placed inside of a Starbucks cup and topped with whipped cream.
