BROOKLYN — It looks like Katz's Deli will indeed launch a second location in Brooklyn. The Lower East Side restaurant has long been rumored to be a tenant in the forthcoming Dekalb Market Hall, and now it's officially on board, per Eater New York. Dekalb Market Hall is on track to open in Spring 2016, and it has secured roughly half of the 40 vendors that will be a part of the project. [ENY]
COMEBACKS — Crystal Pepsi, the clear, bubbly soft drink that was one of the shining beacons of the 1990s, is apparently about to rise from the ashes. Competitive eater and Crystal Pepsi superfan Kevin Strahle received a letter from PepsiCo that indicates a return for the soda. Crystal Pepsi originally launched in 1992, but it fell flat almost immediately. Why there seems to be a cult movement to ignite its relaunch is anyone's guess. [Kevin Strahle/Twitter]
CHICAGO — Uber-like meal-delivery service Sprig is ready to launch in the Windy City, reports Eater Chicago. The San Francisco-based company's app involves a daily-changing menu of fresh-cooked dishes, available in the $9 to $13 range, and a guest-chef dinner series, which features local chefs preparing meals specifically for the service. Sprig, available on Android and iOS, is available for dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weeknights. [ECHI]
