May the food be with you: Disney World is hosting a series of Star Wars-themed weekends starting May 15 and they feature a brand new restaurant. Dubbed the Rebel Hangar, Star Wars' website notes that the restaurant is set up in an "abandoned starship hangar — located in a galaxy far, far away," which in this case is Orlando, Fla. at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Diners should brace for a menu rife with puns. There's Pilot's Pomme Frites, an Ensalada Naboo which features bibb lettuce and a parmesan-peppercorn ranch dressing, and even Lightsaber Bites crafted from corn-battered sausages. The menu also includes a chicken and waffles dish called "The Dark Fried" and a "Trio of Thermal Detonators" which consist of spicy pork wings topped with a piquillo-pepper slaw. There's even a dish called Chips & Sith, which features a bowl filled with red pepper coulis with the Sith's face drawn in black sesame dust. Dessert options include a trio of cupcakes fashioned after Yoda, Darth Vader, and Jabba the Hutt.
The drinks at Rebel Hangar get the Star Wars treatment, too: The restaurant will serve cocktails like Tatooine Sunset and Dagobah Swamp Juice which is made with Midori and lemon-lime foam. Unfortunately, there will be no Boba Fett pancakes. Check out some of the menu items below:
