Hooters is a pretty common place to find a pubescent teenage boy. However, after a recent incident, one Florida teen may need to find a new hangout spot. According to WESH, the 16-year-old was shot in the face in a Hooters parking lot yesterday evening. Orlando police note that the teen drove himself to the hospital and that his injuries are non-life-threatening.
The Orlando Sentinel writes that police are unsure of what caused the incident. Witnesses say that "at least two people were shooting" and the authorities are currently investigating whether the teen is "truly a victim in the incident or an aggressor." A witness tells WESH that the teen was the victim and that he was just "trying get away" from the situation and refused to wait for help. Police are currently looking for the other people involved in the incident and Hooters is "fully cooperating" in the investigation.
This isn't the first shooting to occur at a Hooters. In 2012, a man accidentally shot his friend in the ankle when trying to reload his gun at a Virginia location of the restaurant. Luckily his friend had no life-threatening injuries.
