Today, FYI network — a young, lifestyle network from A+E — announced an addition to its upcoming schedule: Food Porn is a new series that will shine a light on the popularity of food photography on social media. The show will be hosted by Michael Chernow of NYC's The Meatball Shop; reality star Bethenny Frankel is the show's executive producer.

In a release, Frankel said, "I am excited to be a part of a series that will showcase the decadence and obsession people have with sharing their food online." Somewhat ironically, Frankel is behind the Skinnygirl collection of beverages and books, and may or may not be working on her own strain of weed.

President of FYI Jana Bennett noted, "People are obsessed with photographing, sharing and discussing the food they eat on social media." A release states that there are over "50 million posts on Instagram with the hashtag #foodporn, and the phrase is tagged nearly every two seconds on Twitter."

So how will this critical mass of photographic food porn be translated for a television audience? Chernow will travel across the country to meet the instagrammers behind some of these posts and "discover what made the meal so distinctive and worthy to share online." Then, he'll interview the chef and restaurant responsible for creating the dish.

We're expecting a lot of ice cream sundaes and dishes topped with perfectly crisp bacon. Food Porn is now in production. An air date has not yet been set.

Exactly one year ago, FYI picked up several new food-focused shows, including Midnight Feast, Reverse Course, and Say It to My Face, which also starred Michael Chernow.
