It's fairly rare to find one pearl in an oyster, let alone 50, but that's what happened yesterday afternoon when diner Toni Elliot took a bite out of a fried oyster at Puckett's Boat House in Franklin, Tenn. Elliot told the local ABC news station that she was "shocked" to discover "pearl after pearl" inside her meal.
The local station interviewed Eric Horton who was Elliot's server at lunch. "She put an oyster in her mouth... and pulled out a pearl," he told the station. "She ended up pulling 50 pearls out of this oyster," Horton said.
Luckily, Elliot found objects of beauty in her food instead of something disturbing. Back in January, McDonald's was force to apologize to diners in Japan who found actual human teeth and a piece of vinyl in their chicken McNuggets. It was McNasty. Earlier this month, Kraft Foods recalled 242,000 boxes of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese because some of the boxes were found to contain metal shards. People probably would not have minded much if the metal had been gold, or anything as luxurious as a pearl.
