Here's a look at acclaimed French chef Anne-Sophie Pic's newest cookbook, Scook: The Complete Cookery Course. While her 2013 cookbook Le Livre Blanc epitomized the title's white motif, Scook features bright swathes of color. Scook shares the name of Pic's culinary school in Valence, France which she runs alongside a number of restaurants including the three-Michelin starred Maison Pic.
Pic's cookbook is a collection of 100 recipes meant for the home cook who hopes to become skilled in French cuisine. It has sections of recipes for children, classic dishes, and "everyday recipes." Readers will learn how to make dishes like a tuna tartlet with sauce vierge, asparagus vichyssoise, and an oyster tartare with cheese fondue. Scook even includes step-by-step guides (with images) for tricky recipes like macaroons. Published by Jacqui Small LLP, Scook: The Complete Cookery Course hits shelves April 6.
