Taco Bell to Unleash Fritos Taco Shells on Your Town Very Soon

Here's hoping they do Funyuns next.

Taco Bell

Doritos simply weren't enough. Now that Taco Bell has effectively conquered the American fast-food landscape with its crunchy snack-chip shell, it's moved onto a new project: the same thing. But with Fritos.

According to Brand Eating, Taco Bell has begun rolling out Fritos corn chip shells, both in original and chili cheese flavor, in select locations. The new Fritos taco box combo, which was seen at stores in Memphis, Tenn., includes a Frito-shell taco, a Doritos Locos taco, a Burrito Supreme, and a medium drink for $5.99.

Taco Bell is hoping to replicate even a sliver of the fervor created when they released Doritos-shell tacos back in 2012. The Doritos Locos taco has been a bonafide hit for the California-based chain, which is owned by Yum! Brands. By their own estimates, they've sold over a billion Doritos Locos tacos.

It's only a matter of time, now, before "Flamin' Hot" shells hit the Taco Bell product line.
