Demand for Shake Shack has never been higher. Fresh off announcing it would open a location in Los Angeles in 2016, restaurateur Danny Meyer's Shake Shack is currently trading up on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares of SHAK are going for between $70 and $72 apiece as of 11:30 a.m. EST.
Shake Shack announced it would go public last fall, and speculation about the company's worth filled news reports for the next several months. When it went public, shares were priced at $21 per share — higher than expected. Shares for SHAK quickly doubled within the first few weeks. Today marks a new high for Shake Shack's stock. Since the NYSE opened this morning, SHAK has jumped nearly $10 per share.
