Cookbook authors and Southern food heroes The Lee Bros. — AKA Matt and Ted Lee — have a television show in the works. It's called Southern Uncovered and will debut June 14 on the Ovation network, reports Charleston paper The Post and Courier.
"Each 22-minute episode is devoted to a different Southern city," beginning with the Lees' hometown of Charleston and then moving onto "Atlanta, Dallas, Louisville, New Orleans and Asheville." Ovation is an "arts-focused network," so the show will also delve into other aspects of each city's culture. Of the show's production style, Matt Lee tells The Post and Courier, "We’re never looking the camera in the eye, which is essential for us, because we’re not Guy Fieri."
The brothers Lee also just announced they're partnering with Louisville chef Edward Lee for an hour-long live show called The Boiled Peanut Hour; if that venture is successful, The Post and Courier says the three Lees may take the show on tour.
