There's a hot new made-for-TV movie about to hit the airwaves all about murder, mystery, and five-star restaurants. According to a press release, the Hallmark Channel will soon premiere a film called Gourmet Detective starring actor Dylan Neal as a "famed culinary consultant" named Henry Ross who is a "charming food industry insider in San Francisco."
When there is a "shocking murder" as his pal's five-star restaurant, Ross must work with a strong-willed police detective named Maggie Price (played by Brooke Burns) to investigate the city's top chefs and solve the crime. It's apparently the first installment of the channel's "Gourmet Detective Mystery Movie Series," so brace for more cheesy films to come. The movie is slated to premiere on May 16.
The Hallmark Channel has introduced a slew of new food-centric movies over the years. Next month, the channel will air a film titled Murder She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder Mystery starring actress Alison Sweeney. In 2012, the Hallmark Channel premiered Taste of Romance, which centers around an ex-firefighter turned cook and a classically trained chef who fall in love.
