It seems that these days, a natural extension of a television show or movie franchise is to create a branded line of wines. The past few years have seen the emergence of wines from shows like Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, and more. Cosmo decanted bottles by Duck Dynasty, 50 Shades of Grey, Downton Abbey, and Star Trek for a number of wine experts and professional sommeliers, and not all of them were as bad as one would think.
To their own surprise, many of the experts were pleasantly surprised by the bottle of Fifty Shades of Grey Red Satin. Tasting notes included that it is "very polished," and something you would "want to drink while eating pizza." Other wines were not so successful. Paul Grieco — owner of New York City wine bar Terroir — notes that Duck Dynasty's Duck Commander Moscato is awful: "You can not call this shit wine."
