Do you love your job? According to a new report from job site Career Cast, working as a cook is one of the worst occupations in America right now. Data scientists, mathematicians, and statisticians have some of the best gigs, which, according to the site means they are "financially lucrative [and] offer abundant opportunities for advancement."
Just after photojournalist, and in the same category as newspaper journalist, corrections officer, lumberjack, and active military personnel is the occupation cook, the third worst job in America. Yes, cooking for a living — which may mean being a line or pastry cook or even a chef — is one of the most grueling lines of work in America. It's stressful with long hours, low pay, and little room for growth, according to Career Cast.

171: Waiter/Waitress

183: Dairy Farmer
197: Cook
Rankings were determined by grading each job within four core criteria: Environment (physical and emotional); Income; Outlook (including employment and income growth potential); and 11 different stress factors (including travel, competitiveness, and life at risk). Data was pulled from the Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics.
