Calling all burger lovers: Here's a look inside a cookbook made just for you. Chef Samuel Monsour (Antibellum, Los Angeles) and burger critic Richard Chudy are releasing a book called American Burger Revival: Brazen Recipes to Electrify a Timeless Classic. The cookbook — which will be published by Union Park Press — features 120 recipes and promises to "feed the souls of ambitious, devoted burger lovers everywhere."
So brace for over-the-top recipes like the Blacked Out Monte Cristo burger which comes topped with something called fried ketchup and glazed donuts, and the Mason Dixon Mixup which is stacked high with crispy leeks, slaw, and johnnycake fried oysters. There are also recipes for a slew of condiments like charred green chile butter, "pimento ez chz," and sweet and spicy ballpark relish, as well as for sides like curly fries.
