The world is getting yet another bone broth cookbook. According to Publishers Marketplace, Ryan and Kate Harvey — the founders of San Diego broth purveyors Bare Bones Co.— landed a deal with Harper Wave. The couple will publish The Bare Bones Broth Cookbook which will feature recipes for "making their signature broths for maximum nutritional content." There will also be many gluten-free and paleo-friendly recipes that feature broth for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, and sauces. Beyond recipes, the book will include testimonials and the latest research on the benefits of bone broth (which is really just stock). There is no release date yet.
Next up, Publishers Marketplace notes that Carolyn Carreno — a James Beard Award-winning cookbook writer — is publishing a book about grain bowls with Grand Central Life & Style. Titled Bowls of Plenty: Recipes for Modern Whole Grain Meals it will feature a number of recipes that teach readers how to create "healthy-delicious" grain-based bowls that feature ingredients like quinoa, spelt, "complex vegetable" toppings, dairy, and meat. A release date has not been announced yet.
Will Horowitz, the executive chef and owner of New York City restaurant Duck's Eatery, has landed a cookbook deal too, according to Publishers Marketplace. The chef will write Salt, Smoke, and Time: Homesteading and Heritage Techniques for the Modern Kitchen with writer Marisa Dobson. Part cookbook and part how-to, it will include recipes as well as techniques for "cold-smoking, curing, pickling, butter-making, butchering, and more." There is no word on when the book will hit shelves.
Adrienne Stillman — the co-founder of cocktail and drinks blog Dipsology — is writing a book that will be published by Phaidon. Publishers Marketplace notes that the book is titled Where Bartenders Drink, and that it will be a "global guide to cocktails."
In more booze book news, PUNCH senior contributing editor and San Francisco Chronicle wine columnist Jon Bonné has landed a deal with Ten Speed Press. Bonné Will publish a guide to contemporary French wines and producers called The New French Wine. Publishers Marketplace writes that the book will feature "more than 400 profiles, evocative photography, incisive commentary, and a comprehensive buyer's guide." There are no details regarding a release date.
According to a Ten Speed Press spokesperson, David Norman — baker and "head dough-puncher" at Austin's Easy Tiger beer garden and bakery — is writing a cookbook with the publishing company. Called Bread on the Table, it will include bread and baking recipes from around the globe. Plus, there will be menu ideas "for incorporating homemade bread in global-inspired meals." The book is slated to hit shelves in the spring of 2017.
And finally, Duck Dynasty cast member Kay Robertson (better known as Miss Kay) is writing a second cookbook. According to a press release, the "savory new collection" of recipes is titled Duck Commander Kitchen Presents Celebrating Family & Friends. Brace for Robertson's "favorite recipes" to celebrate holidays like Christmas, Mother’s Day, and New Year’s Eve. The book — which will be published by Howard Books, a division of Simon & Schuster — will be available in stores April 7.
