As the weather finally starts to heat up, so does the culinary landscape: In the coming weeks, expect a slew of springtime events, new entertainment options, and (most crucially to food and drink fans) an onslaught of new restaurant and bar openings that are sure to keep the buzz going through Memorial Day and beyond.

Nationwide, wood-fired cooking, Spanish-influenced tapas, and cheffy fried chicken remain go-to trends, but this spring, expect fine-dining chefs to go casual en masse: New restaurants by Grant Achatz, Joshua Skenes, David Chang, and Matt McCallister promise more accessible fare, as do the many chef-driven stalls popping up in food halls. On the events circuit, the annual Coachella music festival ups its food game with actual tasting menus by the likes of Roy Choi and Kris Morningstar, while other events like the Cultivate Festival and the Sweetlife Festival similarly mash-up the worlds of music and food. Rejoice everyone: Spring is here; find the best ways to celebrate its arrival below.
