BOSTON— After an earlier deal fell through in late 2014, looks like iconic New Haven pizzeria Frank Pepe is making a second attempt at Boston expansion: Eater Boston reports another deal is stewing for Frank Pepe (known colloquially as "Pepe's") somewhere in the metro area. According to early reports, the first Boston location could open later this year, and may be part of a multiple-location expansion. More details as they become available. [EBOS]

JERSEY CITY— Top Chef alum Dale Talde has swung the doors open at his newest restaurant: Eater NY brings word that Talde's Carrino Provisions, an Italian market/restaurant, is now open in Jersey City, NJ. It'll be a busy few weeks for Talde's growing restaurant group: a second location of his Brooklyn restaurant, Talde, will soon open next-door to Carrino, while earlier today, Eater Miami confirmed Talde will open an outpost of his eponymous restaurant in Miami Beach. [ENY]

VIRGINIA— Speaking of Top Chef alums, Joy Crump (who was eliminated early on in this season of Top Chef Boston), will open her second restaurant in Fredericksburg, Virginia, later this year. According to a press release, the 44-seat Mercantile, located next door to Crump's restaurant FOODE, will serve breakfast and lunch. [EaterWire]
