Iconic 90's stoner band 311 is getting into the craft beer biz. According to Radio.com, "the Omaha band has teamed up Rock Brothers in Tampa, Fla., and Nebraska Brewing in Papillion, Neb." to create their first brew, which will be an amber ale. (That seems appropriate, given that "Amber" is probably the only 311 song that most people under 30 or so actually know.)
Radio.com points out that Rock Brothers has brewed beers for other musicians in the past, including one called "Hootie's Home Grown Ale" for fellow 90's alterna-rock demigods Hootie & The Blowfish.
311's beer could debut as soon as July at a two-night concert event in Vegas, after which they'll likely "roll out the beer as a draft at select local bars in Omaha and Los Angeles before going wider as a canned beer." Fans will have to wait till then to find out whether said beer goes "Down" easy (sorry).
