MINNEAPOLIS— Robbinsdale's Travail Kitchen is the latest restaurant to adopted a ticketed system in lieu of more traditional reservations: Eater MPLS reports the popular restaurant will use TempoTickets as its ticket provider. Like many restaurants that have entered the ticketed space — many through Nick Kokonas's system Tock — Travail will offer seats at dynamic prices, with tables priced differently depending on the time of evening and day of the week. (The ticket system will also automatically add 18 percent for gratuity.) Tickets for March and April will be released simultaneously next Wednesday, February 18; more information here. [EMPLS]

CALIFORNIA— The Pennsylvania-based Rita's Italian Ice chain has announced massive expansion plans for Northern California. According to Eater SF, the brand plans more than 60 new CA locations, as part of a partnership with San Francisco's Ice Empire. Thus far, locations in Napa, Santa Cruz, and Fresno have been confirmed; head over to read the entire list. [ESF]

BOSTON— Top Chef OG Tiffani Faison (who appears on the reality competition's first season) has announced a new restaurant: Eater Boston reports Faison will open the "Southeast Asian-inspired" restaurant Tiger Mama just down the street from her barbecue spot Sweet Cheeks. Tiger Mama is aiming for a July 2015 opening. [EBOS]
