CAFFEINE NATION

A fancy new outdoor specialty coffee shop opened in Paris this week. The shop — called Honor — serves premium coffee and a "short but smart" selection of quiche, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. It is owned by an English-Australian couple who are trained baristas.

EXPANSIONS

Following in the steps of Blue Bottle and Dominique Ansel Bakery, yet another international restaurant is expanding to Japan. Spanish "gourmet deli" and pastry shop Pastelería Mallorca will start serving Tokyo residents bocadillos and hot chocolate in late April.

THE CHAINS

Slutburger chain Carl's Jr. is getting fishy. The chain has added a "Redhook Beer Battered Cod Fish Sandwich" to its menu for less than $4 a pop. Check out one of their famous ads below:

It's official, Dunkin' Donuts' Cronut knock-off, the Croissant Donut, is now on the chain's permanent menu. So far Dunkin' has sold over 8.5 million of the mash-up pastry, which is probably more than the number of actual Cronuts sold.

RECALLS

Whole Foods is recalling nearly 33,191 pounds of "ready to eat products" like their chicken chili burritos and pork carnitas for failing to indicate on the label that they contain peanuts, a common allergen.

GOOD DEEDS

Here's a chance to have a pair of tweens out-cook you: Charitybuzz is hosting an auction where the winning bidder will get to cook with two stars of MasterChef Junior, Josh Reisner and Adaiah Stevens.
