It's Thanksgiving Every Night at London's First Turkey-Only Restaurant

Bad news for turkeys in their off season.

In case you haven't had your fill of turkey this holiday season, one London restaurant is ensuring patrons can feast on the big bird all year round. According to Metro, Strut & Cluck — London's first turkey-only restaurant — will open a permanent location in the coming months. After the success of its pop-up restaurant inside London's Shoreditch House, Strut & Cluck (lol) took to social media to promise more of its free-range turkey dishes and Middle Eastern-inspired vegetarian dishes to come in the spring of 2016.

The menu will feature dishes like marinated turkey drumstick served with roasted vegetables, tahini, and pomegranate molasses; and a turkey sandwich on sourdough with pickled eggs, pickled onion mayo, and feta-stuffed peppers. Diners can also expect family-style offerings like sweet and spicy turkey lettuce cups topped with labneh and whole charred cauliflower with labneh, pomegranate, and sumac.

Owners Amir and Limor Chen want to make turkey the new chicken, explaining, "Turkey is one of the leanest and most nutritious sources of protein available, as well as a great source of B vitamins, minerals, and amino acids."

While a turkey-only restaurant may be new for London, strange pop-ups focusing on a specific type of food are certainly not. Last year, a new pop-up named Tincan Restaurant served canned food only — perhaps inspired by a similar venture opened in New York the year before. In February of this year, the UK city saw a Game of Thrones inspired pop-up, as well as an owl-friendly eatery that gave diners the opportunity to eat alongside the nocturnal bird. Unfortunately, none of them managed to transition into a permanent location like Strut & Cluck.
