Watch Nick Offerman Sip Whisky Silently by a Roaring Fire for 45 Blissful Minutes

It's Yule Log for millennials.

As Christmastime approaches, many television stations will air the traditional Yule Log programming: an hours-long film loop of a fireplace accompanied by the sound of traditional Christmas music. For those not lucky enough to have an actual wood-burning fireplace, it can serve as a pleasantly atmospheric, strangely zenlike background over which to wrap gifts and bake Christmas cookies.

But seeing as how ye olde Yule Log was created way back in 1966, it was probably about time for an update. Enter this new video of Parks & Recreation actor Nick Offerman — aka Ron Swanson, the manliest man to ever fictionally walk the earth — sitting in armchair sipping Lagavulin whisky while a roaring fireplace burns in the background for 45 gloriously uninterrupted minutes. Mr. Offerman, we salute you for plowing through that whisky with nary a bathroom break.
