Watch Barbecue Savant Adam Perry Lang Make a Boozy Holiday Roast With Jimmy Kimmel

Mmm, meat and whiskey.

'Tis the season for parking lot barbecues — or that's the case on Jimmy Kimmel Live, anyway, where last night the late-night host shot a holiday segment with barbecue guru and cookbook author Adam Perry Lang. On the menu: a boozy holiday roast.

Lang fully understands that holidays and booze go together like avocados and toast, and so he takes a two-fold approach to getting his slab of meat all liquored up: First, it's smoked in a Big Green Egg with pieces of George Dickel whiskey barrels; then, Lang prepares a whiskey reduction and bastes the roast with a DIY rosemary basting brush. Thanks to the magic of television, a roast that would normally take several hours is finished in just about five minutes, giving Kimmel and Lang plenty of time to serve up some whiskey-soaked beef tacos to musical guest Run the Jewels and holiday mascot the Hanukkorn (that's a unicorn with a nine-pronged horn resembling a menorah, obviously).
