This evening, news reports confirmed at least seven attacks on the city of Paris, at least three of which occurred in restaurants. Some 160 people have died.

Update: November 14, 12:15 p.m.: Alice Waters expressed her shock at the attacks in a post to Instagram. Her daughter was eating dinner down the street from one of the incidents and is safe.
