Michelin Announces 2016 Stars for Switzerland

There are 13 new one-star restaurants.

The 2016 Michelin Guide to Switzerland has been announced and Switzerland officially has three restaurants with three Michelin stars. Cheval Blanc, which is located in Basel, gained its third star this year, joining Schloss Shauenstein in Fürstenau and Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville in Crissier. Thirteen restaurants — including Eligo in Lausanne, which is headed up by a Maison Pic alum — gained their first star, too. Unfortunately, 14 restaurants also lost a star.

Overall, the 2016 guide features 18 two-star restaurants. Switzerland has 95 one-star restaurants, which is one less than last year. The 2016 guide includes 119 restaurants in the Bib Gourmand category as well, according to Elizabeth on Food. Of that, 18 are new. Below, the full list:
