Watch a Preview of 'Food Porn,' FYI's New Instagram-Themed Show

It's hosted by Michael Chernow.

Just when it seems the television market is saturated with food-centric programming, another new show comes out of the oven. This one, hosted by New York restaurateur Michael Chernow and executive produced by reality TV person Bethenny Frankel, is called Food Porn, and FYI, the network airing it, hopes to break through the noise by offering a series that highlights food-obsessed social media.

Food Porn plays up the trend of snapping pics of dishes and posting them to Instagram, an incredibly fun or annoying development of recent years, depending on how you look at it. Chernow "travels across the US to meet today's tastemakers," according to a release. In this preview, he visits Gunshow in Atlanta, where owner and Top Chef alum Kevin Gillespie shows off his "Closed on Sunday" fried chicken sandwich.

"Everyone picks up their phone way before their forks when they go out to eat, and FYI wanted to be the first to capture this trend and bring it to life," says FYI senior vice president of programming and development Gena McCarthy. In addition to the food scenes in this clip, there are the obligatory shots of diners hovering cameraphones over their plates.

Food Porn also plans to hit New York, Chicago, Miami, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Fourteen half-hour episodes are on the docket, and the series premieres Thursday, December 3, at 9 p.m. ET.
