Wine Snobs Might Not Know as Much as They Think

Intentionally or not, they may be faking it.

Most professionals in the wine industry and obsessed oenophiles take great pride in their vast knowledge of everything grape to glass. At best, they use their knowledge to help patrons and friends find the right bottle, and at worst they use it to be total jerks. Talking wine with a so-called expert can be pretty intimidating for a layman.

But should it be? As it turns out, many wine snobs experience the beverage the same way as any less-seasoned drinker, and they are really faking their superior tasting abilities. This video explains how wine, like pretty much everything else in the food and beverage world, is subjective, and when put to the test many experts fall flat.
