Watch April Bloomfield Whip up a Banoffee Pie

It's an English classic.

April Bloomfield, the woman behind New York City's The Spotted Pig and The Breslin, didn't want to become a pastry chef. When she began cooking, the idea that women were supposed to work pastry sent her running in the other direction. Fortunately, Bloomfield has embraced the medium, and she wants you to learn how to prepare her banoffee pie, a combination of bananas, toffee, whipped cream, and chocolate.

In this video from Mind of a Chef, Bloomfield breaks down the steps, making toffee by boiling a can of sweetened condensed milk and combining the ingredients in a pie shell. How good is it? The chef declares banoffee pie is "the best dessert ever."
