Jessica Koslow — the chef behind popular Los Angeles restaurant Sqirl — just landed a two-book deal with Abrams. According to LA Weekly, the first will be a Sqirl cookbook "and lifestyle book."

Koslow tells the paper that readers can expect an approachable book featuring recipes for "everything I want to eat: breakfast, lunch, pastry... just everything I want to eat every day." The book will also cover the food scene in Los Angeles: "There really is a disconnect between what people think about L.A. and what's actually going on here. So I do want the book to be about: Look, this is Silver Lake, this is L.A. Here's the way we're eating here, which isn't necessarily how people think we're eating."

As for recipes for Koslow's famous jams? A few will make it into the first book, but she is saving most of them for the second, which will be all about canning. Koslow's first book is slated to hit shelves in 2017.

It's going to be a busy year for Koslow, who is Eater LA's 2014 chef of the year. On top of working on a book, she is currently adding a "to-go and retail component" called Sqirl Away next door to Sqirl.

UPDATE 1/2/2015: Publishers Marketplace notes that Koslow's first book is titled Everything I Want to Eat.
